The study programme TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY at undergraduate academic studies lasts for four years, or eight semesters worth a total of 240 ECTS. It consists of obligatory and elective courses.

During the studies, the student can acquire the necessary IT education and internationally recognized ECDL (Еuropean Computer Driving Licence), as well as the degree in English (in collaboration with the British Council) and internationally recognized certifications for other languages ​​(Spanish and German).

The realization of the study programme takes place through mentorship of a group of 50 students. The quality of teaching process is ensured through the use of following teaching methods: lectures, practices, project presentations, implementation of modern methods of case study, gaining and testing skills and knowledge through business simulations and alike.

The study programme TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY provides acquisition of the following skills:

  • monitoring tendencies and changes in the tourism and hospitality;
  • managing key business functions in tourism and other organizations;
  • managing destination management organizations and other official bodies;
  • managing different jobs in various public meetings;
  • use of spatial plans for tourism development;
  • use of appropriate information systems in tourism and hospitality industry;
  • business negotiations and contact;
  • use of computer technology and foreign languages.

 

The aims of the study programme TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY are:

  • provide students with the appropriate theoretical and methodological knowledge base related to tourism and hospitality industry,
  • provide students with the extensive and qualitative professional practice which can help them understand the functioning of the economic business systems and public sector in the tourism industry,
  • provide students with the practice of certain quantitative disciplines such as Quantitative methods (Matlab), Accounting (IPC Software Rules – business software and PANTHEON ™),
  • provide students with the self-testing (PRUT),
  • provide students with obligatory study of English language and other foreign languages.

Upon completion of the study programme TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY students will acquire competencies to perform the following tasks:

  • manager in the hotel companies, or its segments (sales, purchasing, finance, human resources, etc.) or its parts, organizational units, etc;
  • manager in the travel agencies or its segments (central booking, package tours, etc.) or responsible of its organizational units (affiliates, branch offices, etc.)
  • research-associate in tourism companies and related industry, and in other organizations on various levels;
  • associate in the tourism industry and in the public sector bodies;
  • associate organizer of public events and happenings;
  • associate for marketing in the tourism companies and in the public sector;
  • teacher in the corresponding vocational schools;
  • associate in the Insurance Companies and Banks;
  • associate in the traffic and commercial enterprises;
  • assistant in marketing and consultancy agencies related to tourism.
